My name is Megan, and I have been a fan of anime (officially) since 1997, when I discovered Sailor Moon on the USA Network. Before then I caught shows such as David the Gnome, The Noozles and Maple Town on Nickelodeon.
Since then, many anime have captured my heart. My favorite genres are fantasy and shoujo. I tend to avoid gundam or horror, and will not go near hentai.
Some of my favorite anime include Akazukin Cha Cha, Slayers, Hime-chan no Ribbon, Mahoujin Guru Guru, Princess Tutu, Cosmic Baton Girl Comet-san, Vision of Escaflowne, and so on. You may notice that many of my favorite shows have NOT been released in the US in any form. Hopefully someday that will change. Hopefully. It is my firm belief that any cartoon, even if it stinks to high heaven, deserves to be collected.
When it comes to TV, I would pick Daria and Futurama over Desperate Housewives and American Idol any day. I used to get up at 6 am every Saturday as a kid with a bowl of cereal in my lap, ready to watch Looney Tunes or the latest weekend morning exclusive. So, I guess it seems natural to get into this hobby. I just hope I don't grow to regret my decision in doing this. I am but a poor girl with VERY tight funds, so don't expect too much from me - at least right now.
I can be rather picky. Generally what I look for in a cel is that it's "natural." Meaning I don't want a right arm missing, a gap where a table should be in their middle or eyes in mid-blink. I have to feel some kind of emotional attachment to it when I look at it, too. I don't know, I'm odd like that I suppose.
